"LIGHTEN-UP... LITTLE ONE!"

Proverbs 3:5-6 (Amplified)
"Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.
In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths".
In "all your ways", trust and believe Him..believe that He will take you through.....
believe that He is at work on your behalf..and that you can "rest" in His love and care for you!
IT IS TRUE..and as a child of God, we know it through His word, and we "know" in our hearts and spirit.
But...do you ever have those times when you are so "overwhelmed"..(for myself..I could add impatient)..by the circumstances of life that, when you are talking to God about them, "your knowledge of Him and what He has told you", seems to be a vague memory?
If you are like me, this has happened.
As a matter of fact, this happened to me, one morning, a few weeks ago. I was outside talking to Him about a few things that I was feeling I needed an answer to. I remember, at one point, saying: "I don't know what to do".
He then answered me...very clearly:
        "LIGHTEN-UP LITTLE ONE"
I remember laughing and saying: "Did You just say that to me?" I really did find it funny, mainly because it caught me off guard. It was so unexpected. A little bit later, I was thinking about Him saying this to me ..I wanted to hear His  voice, my Father's voice, saying it all over again. I wanted to keep "the moment" with me.
"I knew that He was reminding me of some things..and doing so with "Great and Gentle Love".
As I was reflecting on His words, what came to me was:

              "LIGHTEN-UP LITTLE ONE
      IF YOU DON'T LIGHTEN UP.....
                          YOU WON'T LIGHT UP!"

I then saw that I needed to see the "layers" of what was being said and shown to me.
I know that He was asking me to take a look at where my focus was and to "Who" He really is!

Psalm 42:5 (nkjv)
Why are you cast down, O my soul? and why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance.
Numbers 23:19 (nkjv)
God is not a man that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said and will He not do? Or has He spoken and will He not make it good?

He wants us to trust Him with every part of ourselves, our lives, and to remember His promises to us..that He will never leave us, that His eye is always upon us, and His desire is that we not worry about anything!

  In Matthew 6:31:
He tells us not to worry about your life, what you will eat, drink, wear...and that your heavenly father knows what you need?"
1 Peter 5:7
"casting all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you."
He wants us to seek Him first, and His ways, and trust Him for all the rest.
Verse 6:33 of Matthew:
"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."
He wants us to understand, believe , and walk in, the knowledge that His word is absolutely true, so that others, can see "Him--His Love through us as we reflect His Countenance".

Matthew 5:14-16 (nkjv)
"You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven".

It is not that God does not want us to talk to Him about all of our concerns, struggles and questions, He does, but He also wants us to know the depth of His care..so that we can walk in "great trust and faith".  And, in doing so, we will witness to all that we meet of "God's Amazing Love and Grace." I believe that He is reminding me that, in our time together, the more readily I "roll my cares onto Him", I am more able to receive "benefits of  the rest that He has for me."
God is speaking to many in the body of Christ today..Isaiah 61:1-3 (nkjv):

"Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the Glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your  rising."

I believe that I hear the Lord saying: "It is time to walk in the strength and power of My word and presence.
My desire for you is:
"To not worry or be afraid..but to walk with courage, filled with My joy, and to "Let the  light of My countenance shine through you!"
So, if this has spoken to you in any way, I encourage you to:

"LIGHTEN UP LITTLE ONE...
            IF YOU DON'T LIGHTEN UP...
                                YOU WON'T LIGHT UP!"

love and blessings in Jesus Name,
Drema

  1. Haha! A little while ago I had a similar experience. As I was praying about what to do regarding what I considered to be a serious problem I kept hearing the song, "Let's go Fly a Kite" from Mary Poppins.
"Lighten up, little one!" I love it. Thank you.
