I don't know about you, but lately I seem to be thinking about "Fall" a lot. The Fall season, time change, etc! Fall is my absolute favorite time of year!
One morning a couple of weeks ago, I was wondering what Holy Spirit might have to say about this time, about this season, and what came to me was "Fall Into Step".
I believe that Jesus is saying:
"Fall Into Step with Me."
What does this mean exactly? I believe, by saying this to us, Jesus is speaking to us on several different levels. As I begin to look at this, I can see that, first and foremost, Jesus is saying "Come walk with Me and go the way that I am going." To make the decision "To go the way Jesus is going" is the most important one that we can make and it is vital that we know the truth of the written word.
John 14:5-7 (Amplified)
Thomas said to Him, Lord we do not know where you are going, so how can we know the way? Jesus said to him, "I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except by (through) Me. If you had known Me (had learned to recognize Me) you would also have known My Father. From now on you have known Him and have seen Him."
Jesus was preparing His disciples for His ascension to heaven after the crucifixion.
(John 14:28-29)
(28)"You heard Me tell you I am going away and I am coming (back) to you. If you (really) loved Me, you would have been glad, because I am going to the Father; for the Father is greater and mightier than I am.(29) "And now I have told you (this) before it occurs, so that when it does take place you may believe and have faith in and rely on Me."
At this point, the disciples were not fully understanding that He came to earth to lead us to the Father so that we might know His love for us and that we are His children. Also Jesus wanted us to know that "He is Truth, He is Life and He is the Way."
So, Jesus is inviting us to "Fall Into Step" with Him by accepting His sacrifice on the cross, to learn to recognize Him, and to trust Him in leading us home. "Home to ours, and His, Heavenly Father."
Jesus came to lead us, to show us the way and He wants to go with us as we walk the road home to God, our Heavenly Father and Creator. He promises in His word that He will never leave us or forsake us.
This is what His word tells us in: Deuteronomy 31:8 (Amplified)
It is the Lord who goes before you; He will (march) with you; He will not fail you or let you go or forsake you; (let there be no cowardice or flinching, but) fear not, neither become broken (in spirit-depressed, dismayed and unnerved with alarm.)
At freedictionary.com "march" is defined in the following way: "To walk steadily and rhythmically forward in step with others."
The "others" in this definition, as it applies to this word, is no other but Jesus Himself. As we have seen in His word above, "He will walk (march) with us..It is a "steady walk" that He wants to have with us. And it is a forward walk. One,which I have come to know, is always about Him taking us through. And when we are going through a place or situation, it is always forward movement that is required. Also, when we move "rhythmically with Jesus", then we walk in accordance to His timing. His timing for us and for all things.
So, I believe Jesus is saying to us "Fall into Step with My Steps"..I will not leave or forsake you..you can trust that the pace at which we will walk together will take you to where you need to be."I have good thoughts for you, to give you a future and a hope!" (Jeremiah 29:11) And as you "Stay in Step with Me", we will "Walk all the Steps Together."
As we choose to "Fall Into Step, Stay in Step, and Walk all our Steps with Jesus, we will begin to:
"See The Eternal Picture"
Every step taken that is rooted and grounded in His word, the truth of who He is, that is in response to His guiding and leading us,is enabling us to "walk" upon the road to Eternal Life. "For these reasons He came and gave His Life on the cross: That we would know Him, know our Heavenly Father, know His great Love for us and that we would ultimately have life eternal."
I love how His word in Ecclesiastes expresses this truth:
Ecclesiastes 3:11 (Amplified)
He has made everything beautiful in it's time.
He also has planted eternity in men's hearts and minds (a divinely implanted sense of a purpose working through the ages which nothing under the sun but God alone can satisfy), yet so that men cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.
Today, I pray, if you have not done so, that you will make the choice to "Fall Into Step with Jesus, The Truth, The Life, The Way."
STEP BY STEP WITH JESUS
STEP BY STEP WE WILL GO
NO MATTER THE HEIGHT OF THE MOUNTAIN
NO MATTER THE NARROWNESS OF THE ROAD
WE CAN TRUST HIM TO STAY RIGHT BESIDE US
WE CAN TRUST HIM TO LEAD AND GUIDE US
STEP BY STEP WITH JESUS
STEP BY STEP WALKING HOME!
Holy Spirit through
