"DO YOU KNOW?"

I am thinking of a song again...it is a song that asks a big question. "Do you know where your going to? It is the "Theme from Mahogany" sung by Diana Ross (also others) and written by song writers Gerry Goffin and Michael Masser. The words to the chorus are as follows:

"Do you know where your going to? Do you like the things that life is showing you? Where are you going to? Do you Know?
"Do you get what your hoping for? When you look behind you there's no open door..What are you hoping for ? Do you know?"

Where has life led you? Are you someone whose definition of success and of what "life is all about"(after having followed your well-made plans toward that end) has left you still searching for "something?"
Do you have special abilities/gifts that you have dreamed of using to chart a course for what you see as a successful life? Perhaps you have tried to walk through a few doors but they either haven't opened or they have led you back to the place you were before. To "Square one, still hoping and also wondering where you fit."
Lastly, has dissatisfaction associated with your plans or unrealized dreams kept you in a place of struggle, causing you to wonder why you are in this place and if it will ever be different?
"It seems to me that all these things can affect our ability to know and focus on our true purpose and direction!
Said differently,I believe that for a long time (possibly forever?), mankind has been caught up in trying to live life in a way in which they believe fulfills the reason for their existence. Making plans based on a false purpose. I believe lack of truth has increased our difficulties. A lack of truth that comes from truly not knowing or from choosing not to believe.
I believe the truth is this:
"When we begin to live in the light of the truth of "Who we are because of Whose we are",then our true purpose will be revealed and our direction will be a whole lot clearer! The direction for which we were created!"
If you have never considered "Whose and Who you are" or if you are in a place of needing to be reminded, I pray and believe you will be encouraged today.
We need to know, live and operate in the truth that: "WE ARE WHO WE ARE BECAUSE OF WHOSE WE ARE!" And I believe that the Holy Bible, from beginning to end, tells us from whence we came, who we are and the place that our Creator wants us to go!

Whose are we?
The first words of the bible tell us.."In the beginning GOD CREATED the HEAVENS and the EARTH....." (Genesis 1 nkjv)
It goes on to open up to our "understanding",
the unfolding of the magnificence, the wonder of creation. The Spirit of God hovered over the darkness and the waters..there was light and darkness, day and night..He brought forth the mountains, oceans, and set the stars, sun and moon in place.God also made the beasts of the field.
Genesis 1:26-2:25:(nkjv)
"God said let us make man in our image, according to our likeness..."
His word tells us that He made man from the dust and He, God, breathed life into His nostrils giving man life. God created a beautiful Garden for man (Adam) to tend and live in. And God created a woman (Eve)to be his companion. Genesis 1:9: God made"every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food."
God told Adam that he could eat of every tree in the garden..EXCEPT..the tree "of the knowledge of good and evil."...because if he did, he would die. (Genesis 2:17 nkjv)
In chapter three (3:1- we read how the serpent was cunning..he caused Eve to question if God had really told them "not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil"..the serpent insinuated that God was trying to keep something from her..so Eve fell prey to the serpents deception and she ate of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and so did Adam.
God created the heavens and the earth. This same Almighty God, Almighty Creator, created man in His own image..God made a beautiful garden for man to dwell in with Him..God provided what man needed..but..man chose to disobey God's direction for living in His garden.
In reality, they chose not to believe God anymore. Man was cast out of the Garden to make his own way, a way that would be a lot more difficult than their Creator intended. When God told Adam that he would die if he ate fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, I believe He was talking about a spiritual separation occurring between man and his creator.
"Truth of whose we are, His plans for us, would become harder for mankind to see and know."
All through the Old Testament, there can be found story after story of mans decisions not to trust God's leading. Instead they chose "go their own way", and it caused great difficulties and often catastrophic results. God has never stopped wanting to show us the way!
Proverbs 14:12 (nkjv
"There is a way that seems right to a man, but it's end is the way of death."
As I said earlier, I believe that the death that Adam and Eve experienced, when they chose to not believe and obey God's word to them, was a spiritual one..a separation from the truth. Whenever we choose not to believe in God, His ways..we die a little...we separate from Him a little more..
In Proverbs 3:5-6 (nkjv) we find the true way:
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and
lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path."
Here is a very encouraging truth from His word:
Jeremiah 29:11(nkjv)
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."
From the very beginning, man was intended to be part of God's amazing creation...He wanted to share Himself with us. He wanted to have a personal relationship with us. He made a safe place for and provided what man needed. Even though we rebelled against Him and made choices based on what we wanted, God has never stopped working to bring us back into a close relationship with Him.
He had a plan in the person of Jesus Christ, His only begotten son.
John 3:16(nkjv)
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
God gave His son to die on Calvary's tree to lead us back to our Heavenly Father..Jesus paid the debt for our sins that we would be able to answer the call of our Father..Come Home..
Jesus is "The Door" that we need to walk through.
John 10:9(nkjv)
"I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture."
Additionally, John 6:44 (nkjv) says:
No one can come to me unless the Father who sent Me, draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day."
Whose are we?
"We are children of the Creator of the World, Creator of all things..We belong to Him."
Who are we?
"We are children of the Creator of the World, the Creator of all things and we are made in His image. He loves us so much that He gave us His greatest gift, His Son, Jesus Christ."
"He wants us home with Him, back in the garden, receiving all the goodness He has for us..Trusting and Believing that what He has for us  is Truth and that His plans for us are ones to prosper us.
So bring Him your disappointments and all of your frustrations. Bring Him your dreams. Place your hope in Him. Come back to Him..Come home to Him for the first time and stay!
Psalm 34:10 (nkjv)
"The young lions lack and suffer hunger; but those who seek the LORD shall not lack any good thing."
Receive His gift of life today..Press into Him and find out His plans for you..Join Him back in the Garden..He is waiting to walk and talk with you. Today is the day, we don't have to wait..
From the very beginning, God created us for Himself..to share His creation...Everything He created was good..and His desire was to give us the best of what we needed. It is all about a relationship with God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth.
"HE IS OUR FATHER, WE ARE HIS CHILDREN."

"TRUSTING AND LEANING"

As we walk through the days of our lives we, either knowingly or unknowingly, are continuously making a choice in every thing to "Trust and Lean."
With the simple things in life we just automatically "know" what we are to do. Through experience, being taught, etc., we simply "go and do." There are also circumstances that are part of our daily walk that we have had to accept as being so and we do what is required to do.
But what about those times when we find ourselves in the "midst of unforeseen, unexpected and difficult situations?" Things of which we have no way of knowing the outcome right away.
Loss of job or home, serious illness involving self or a close loved one, the passing of one that we loved dearly are examples of things that are "huge" in their impact.
"Huge when  we are not." It is when this type of crisis comes and impacts our lives that we are placed in the position of  "Trusting and Leaning" in the fullest sense.  Who, What and How we "Trust and Lean" will determine how we walk through the trials that come. Trials that are part of the human experience.
Personally, right now, I find myself experiencing some very huge things. Things that are happening to people who are so very dear to me, whom I love greatly. So, I find myself in a place of being tremendously concerned for the impact and the outcome. This "trial" is causing me to see, once again, how these things can cause us to respond in ways that make it harder for us to focus on what we need to focus on.
When difficult things come to us, we respond with true and genuine feelings and emotions. Worry, sorrow, sadness, fear, anxiety, questioning, anger and frustration are prime examples of our potential responses. We very quickly want it to be done and over. We want answers now. But the truth is the answers don't always come quickly and we must wait until steps are revealed to us.
The unknown future awaits. This is where "Who, What and How We Trust and Lean" can change the environment of the test or trial that we and those we love are going through." Whether we know the Love of our Heavenly Father, of His Son, and the presence of His Holy Spirit or not, we all face these times.
I want to share with you what I know to be truth in my walk with Jesus and what I, personally, needed to be reminded of again by Holy Spirit. None of us are perfect or exempt from having reactions in these situations. There is only one perfect and His name is Jesus..and He wants to show us the way!
If  you have "huge" difficulties that you are now walking through I believe you will be encouraged and strengthened.  I know that Jesus desire is to strengthen us in everything and in all ways. He is always with us and will never leave us without providing a way. However, "We must choose to believe, trust and lean on Him."
Worry is our biggest enemy against ourselves and our situation.
Holy Spirit recently showed me that when we worry, we are really
trying to figure everything out..but as I mentioned earlier there is no way to do this because most situations require a waiting time, an "unfolding" of information which help us to know the steps that are to be taken...Or, they require actions on the part of other people, who are also waiting for the "steps" to be revealed.

Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:27(new testament-nkjv):
"Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature."
He also tells us in the passage of Matthew 6:25-32 not to worry about anything..our food..our clothing what we will wear, etc.. and He says in Matthew 6: 33-34:
"But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."
"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."
Jesus is the "Kingdom" and He promises us, in His word to never leave us. Deuteronomy 31:8:
"And the Lord, He is the one who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed."
God also tells us in Proverbs that there is a way that we can choose to walk through "anything" that comes our way:
Proverbs 3: 5-6(nkjv)
"Trust in the lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him,  and He shall direct your paths."
He also tells that as we wait on Him, that He will strengthen us.
Isaiah 40:31(nkjv)
"But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength: they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint."
We have a choice of Who, What and How we Trust and Lean on. One takes and keeps us upset and anxious.. the other, Leaning on Jesus, enables to open up our hearts to see and know that He is at work on our behalf.

Philippians 4:5-7(nkjv)
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

I do hope and pray that you know Him as your personal Lord and Savior, and that you know and trust that His word is true. If you haven't stepped forward and taken hold of His hand that is waiting to lead you to the life He has for you, then I ask you to take that step today.
Your words don't have to be complex, you can simply say:
"Lord Jesus, Come into my heart and fill me with your love, your truth..I love You Jesus, thank You for dying for me. Enable me to surrender all, that You might be Lord of my life. In Jesus Name, I pray."
Tell someone what has happened, read His word and find others to fellowship with and to encourage you.
I hope that you will be encouraged by the words below from Holy Spirit and I speak blessings over your life today,
In Jesus Name, Amen!

" ADVENTURE HIGHWAY "

There is a song, sung by Diana Ross:

"Do you know where your going to? Do you like the things that life is showing you? Where are you going to? Do you know?"

For just about all of us, life's road is one that is comprised of many adventures. Some have been difficult to go through. Others have given us immeasurable blessings and happiness. Mutually, the good and the bad times have brought us to the place we are today!
I am wondering:
Have the experiences that you have had, up to this point, brought you to a place of continuing to move along, or are you "stuck " and unsure of the next step?
I believe Jesus is calling us "out and onto Adventure Highway."  He wants to fill us with hope and expectancy to receive the Abundant Life  He Has promised us. I also believe He wants to show us that all  we have experienced so far, can become a source of strength and encouragement to ourselves, to others, as He leads us to new and newer adventures.
The stories, or adventures, of two people of the Bible come to mind as examples of what God can do with our lives as we put our complete trust in Him.  Abraham and Moses were called, by God, to move out of the place they were in and into a  place of going.
Abraham loved God, was faithful to trust and obey Him. So when God called Abraham, it was a "going without knowing." He was told to go to a new land to live. He obeyed. (Genesis 12:1-4) God told him that He would bless him and that all the people of the earth would come through him. God promised Abraham and his wife, Sarah, that they would have a child. This child would "hold" great promise for both of them.
Moses was called out of a place where he had run to as a result of believing he had messed up. (Exodus 2:11-15) He became very comfortable there but  God's plan for Him was one of  great magnitude and it would be completed.  He would lead a very stubborn people out of the land of bondage to the land of freedom that God had for them.
Both men, when God began to bring forth His promises and plans, "Stepped out onto Adventure Highway." They didn't know what it looked like, what would comprise the call. But because they knew who was calling them, His Greatness, they obeyed! Both men loved God and put their trust in Him! Neither man wanted to "go" without knowing God was going with them!
Both men were of an advanced age when they were called! Abraham was 75 when God told him to leave the land that he dwelt in and move to another. (Genesis 12:1-4) He was 100 when his wife Sarah bore him a son, Isaac.(Genesis 21:1-4)
Isaac begat 12 sons of whom the 12 Tribes of Israel descended from.
Moses was 80 years old when he began fulfilling the call of God to lead the children of Israel out of 400 years of bondage. (Exodus 6:1-8 and 7:7)
It doesn't matter what our "Highway" experience has been up to now. God knows better than we do  why it has been what it has been. He  simply loves us and  has good plans for us. He wants to take what and where we've been, and let Him lead us to where we are going to! His plans for us are so much better than any we could have for ourselves!
(Jeremiah 29:11)
If things haven't turned out the way you thought they would,if you have lost your sense of direction or if you feel like you have made too many bad choices, If you have dreams that have not unfolded, leaving  you feeling that there is no hope, don't give up..."Look up"... No more wondering where you are going ."
"Jesus is saying..Step onto My Highway. I can take everything and make it for good." (Romans 8:28)

Holy Spirit gave me the following words, just this morning, to share with you!

                                STEP OUT-STEP OUT
           ONTO ADVENTURE HIGHWAY
                YOU MUST GO!
YOU HAVE A LOVING GUIDE WAITING
HE IS THE BEST YOU WILL EVER KNOW!
               ABUNDANT LIFE

      WILL FILL YOU,TAKE YOU THROUGH!

LET HIM TAKE YOU TO A NEW PLACE!
              STEP OUT-STEP OUT
          LET THE ADVENTURE BEGIN!

         IT'S NOT ABOUT MOVING FAST
         IT'S NOT ABOUT MOVING SLOW
IT'S ABOUT RESTING ON THE PROMISES OF GOD
                    AND

In closing, I want to say that if you have not believed and received God's gift of Salvation through His son, Jesus Christ, then I believe today is your day! Also, if you do believe that Jesus died for you but have not asked Him to be Lord of your life, then again , there is no better time than right now. Give Him control..give Him your heart!
You will be amazed!

" FLUCTUATION OF CHANGE "

I find myself in a place of tremendous change going on all around me and change regarding my own life. A place of transition. The circumstances that have comprised my life are being majorly altered and I am beginning to see the outer banks of a new place that I am going to.
I do know that this place of change, of movement, is being unfolded by God's hand. I have been expecting to come to this place. I have indeed longed for it.
While I am excited that this "awaited time" has begun, I  believe Holy Spirit has shown me that how I move through, and into the new place, will look like peace or chaos!
Everything I do affects another person, or circumstance, in some way. It is important to be " swift in hearing, but slow in speaking." I  believe God is also showing me to be slow to react. I need to be continuously aware that a persons posture or demeanor is more often a reflection of what 'they' are going through..not intentionally directed towards me.

James 1:19 (nkjv)
"So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath. For the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God."

We are living in times when not just a few, but many are
experiencing major change. Job changes, changing housing location, decreased income, uncertain futures,
are just a few "places" comprising life's landscape. They
all reflect our absolute need for safety and stability.
Others, have had dreams on hold and can sense the beginning of their unfolding. Still others find themselves where difficult struggles seem to be occurring at the very same time that it seems they about to see "the long-awaited dream/hope fulfilled..Where do we go? What do we do?
We lift up our heads towards heaven where Jesus is seated on the throne..We cry out to Him and ask Him to speak to us, to make Himself known to us in the middle of our struggle. God sometimes speaks to me through the  'acrostics' of a word.
He showed me: In the middle of our "MESS" we have a "Mighty Eternal Sovereign Savior", who Longs for us to know that He "see's" exactly where we are, who is waiting for us to respond to His gentle voice calling us to come unto Him, and whose one desire is that we know the height, the depth, the width of His love for us. He intends and wants "good" for us.

Psalm 50:14-15 (ASV)
"Offer unto God the sacrifice of thanksgiving; And pay thy  vows unto the Most High: And call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver thee and thou shalt glorify Me."

We go to the Bible..The God-Breathed Word of Life. In times like we are beginning to experience today, this is the only true source of clear direction..It contains the answer to anything we need understanding on.

"God's timing, direction and a discerning spirit are essential "keys" when moving  through the fluctuation of change." Transition overload is not the place He has for us as we move forward in Him. The affects of change are more far-reaching than we know or see.
But God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth, of all things, knows the end from the beginning..He is the Alpha and Omega..The beginning, the end! He is not surprised at the "place" we find ourselves in.

Ecclesiastes 3:1(ASV)
"For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven..."

As we seek Him, His word that teaches and guides us, we will come to know that His promises are Yes and Amen!.He will see us through to more than we thought possible.
We must be gentle to others and ourselves..listen to each other more..and encourage each other as we travel this road together.
One last thing, If you have not received God's gift of salvation, His Son Jesus Christ, I believe today is your day. If you have come to a place of believing that Jesus gave His life for  you are only a simple step away.
Ask Him to let you know how much He loves you, give Him your days and let Him, His word guide, direct and keep you.
Surrender your life to Him, you will be amazed at the great plans He has for you!

Blessings in Jesus Name,
Drema

" THE WONDERS OF HIS GRACE "

Several days ago, I felt the Lord leading me to share about the abundant grace He has poured out upon me, my life. My reaction was: "How am I going to be able to write about Your grace? I don't know if I could give it the full honor it deserves."
Well, just yesterday, I went online and read a wonderful "word from the Lord" through a lady, named Mary Clark,  who has postings on:    ft111.com   (Where Eagles Gather) The posting was entitled "Expound on My Grace." The posting began with the words: "Expound on My Grace beloved. Tell others about the wonders of My Grace." Well, I "heard" Him very clearly. God was confirming and encouraging me of His desire that I share, in this blog, what He has done for me. He made up my mind for me.
So now that I have begun, I am excited. My hope is that the words "spoken" here will bring glory and honor to the "name above all names, Jesus Christ." Also, whatever place you are in, that it will testify to the truth of who He is, His great immeasurable love for "all of us" , and of "His Amazing Grace."
"GRACE"- God's unmerited favor. No way to earn it...can't do enough good deeds to keep your supply coming..It is simply and completely because He chooses to flood our lives with His goodness, His favor.
Psalm 107:8 says: "Oh that men would give thanks unto the Lord for His goodness and for His wonderful works to the children of men." (nkjv)
I am one child of God who has so very much to be praising Him for! I said yes to God's gift of salvation through His son when I was a young girl..Then spent many years away from even remotely living like I wanted to know Him..When my children were little, I returned  to church, but "moved' away from Him again.
Life happened..difficulties occurred..marriage reached a state of "nothing good going on."  I made some choices..Very bad and unwise choices..I could blame it on many things, but the truth is: "I deliberately made destructive choices..Harmful to myself, my children and to the man I walked out on.
I walked out of his house straight into another man's house. I took too many steps in the wrong direction and I knew there was no going back. I brought shame and embarassment upon the ones I loved the most. It created a huge separation with my children..So big that only the love and grace of my heavenly Father could close the gap. Through all of this, He never gave up on me. He had, as His word declares in Jeremiah (29:11),..a future and a hope for me...He had good thoughts toward me. Good thoughts at a time when nobody had good thoughts of me..least of all myself.
I divorced my children's father, lived with the other man, and we were ultimately married. He too had strayed away from God. We had many challenges and difficulties in our years together. In the midst of them, God began drawing us back to Himself...loving us..letting us know that He was still for us.
Philippians 1:6 says: "being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ." (nkjv)
It was also during this time, even though filled with many struggles, that "He became Real to me." I truly began to feel His presence with me..I wanted to "know" Him more and I have been seeking a personal relationship with Him ever since. HE did, of course, lead me to desire this relationship. I am so very grateful, for many reasons, for He has carried me through some very painful situations. "More of His grace being applied to my life".
We were married a little over five (5) years and he went home to be with Jesus..He had been seriously ill with emphysema. It was a painful time.
Several years passed and I found my self having no home of my own, financially empty and not knowing what to do or where to go. Holy Spirit began to speak to me about going to live with my oldest daughter. (in another state) I kept saying no, I hate it there..not to mention my relationship with this particular daughter had been very unhealthy..even before I divorced her father. I didn't want to walk into that.
But, I also wanted to be obedient to what God was asking me to do. There were many difficult moments. It was not the best of situations for a while...But God!  His love, mercy..His Grace knows no bounds no limits..I can look back now and see His Hand upon me, upon us. He was restoring what had been lost..I have had to learn much patience as He has done the work. I have been able to be with grandchildren. He gave me a home. God had all this for me in spite of all I had done.
GRACE-HIS UNMERITED FAVOR! There is more, so much more that He has done..I must share one more thing.
I had been living with my daughter for about 16 months when God told me that something was coming...but for me not to be afraid..He said:"Do not worry, do not fret..I am with you..I will be with you..again I say..do not worry..do not fret." He told me that I was "going to be going through a tremendous time of growth." Well, by this point in my relationship with Him, I had learned that true "spiritual growth" comes out of difficult times. His word to me also answered my questions about some physical discomfort I had experienced.
I talked to Him about it a lot..and He flooded my heart, my spirit with His peace that all was well..I went to the doctor..after the tests, breast cancer..very large growth..stage 3..radical mastectomy required. I HAD NO INSURANCE.
"He said don't worry, don't fret..I am with you, I will be with you.(Deuteronomy 31:8 "The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you;  He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."
While I was waiting for the official results of the mammogram, (God had already told me that I had cancer),the x-ray assistant began to tell me something that God had not told me yet..She told me that whatever was coming my way, I was blessed, because it was all going to be covered..paid for. I sat there with mouth wide open..kinda on the verge of tears, but really ready to break out laughing...In one short day,...from seeing a doctor for the first time one morning, to the next morning having the mammogram done..God had kept His word to me..It was there waiting as I took the steps of trusting Him.
"God is not a man, that He should lie, neither the son of man, that he should repent: Hath He said and will He not do it? Or hath He spoken, and will He not make it good?
Numbers 23:19 (american standard version)

HE IS WHO HE SAYS HE IS...OUR FATHER, OUR SAVIOR, OUR LORD AND KING..HE LOVES US WITH A LOVE THAT IS IMMEASURABLE . HIS GRACE AND MERCY ARE OURS TO RECEIVE..EVEN WHEN WE AREN'T SERVING HIM, HE IS STILL TAKING CARE OF US..WE JUST DON'T USUALLY UNDERSTAND THAT IT HAS BEEN HIM ALL ALONG LEADING US TO THE PLACE WHEN WE FINALLY BEGIN TO LISTEN.
HE LOVES US ALL THE SAME..HE DOES NOT CHOOSE ONE OVER THE OTHER.

This morning as I spent time with Him, Holy Spirit gave me some words that I am to share:

                      OH THE LOVE OF GOD
         THE LOVE OF OUR FATHER
          THE LOVE OF HIS SON
           SO PURE AND TRUE
         RAINING DOWN HIS GRACE
           AND ENDURING MERCY
            HE WANTS US HOME
        NO MATTER WHAT WE'VE DONE
            HE WANTS US HOME
HE IS CALLING ME AND YOU!

                   Holy Spirit
